Privacy at a glance

  • We collect what we need to make and deliver your order: your name, email, addresses, order details and the names and numbers you ask us to print.
  • We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use third-party advertising or analytics trackers on this site.
  • Payment details are handled by the payment provider you choose at checkout, not stored by us.
  • Photos you send us, for example of a damaged item, are deleted 30 days after delivery.
  • You can ask to see, correct or delete your information by emailing support@jerseyyard.shop.

This Privacy Policy explains how Jersey Yard (“we”, “us”) collects, uses, shares and protects personal information when you visit jerseyyard.shop, place an order or contact us. Jersey Yard is the business operating this website, at 158 Bar Harbor Rd, Freehold, NJ 07728, US. If you have a question about this policy, email support@jerseyyard.shop.

A family store handles a particular kind of personal information: the names of your children, their ages expressed as numbers on a jersey, sometimes a birthday or a family nickname. We treat that text with the same care as your address and email, and we use it only to make your order.

1. Information we collect

1.1 Information you give us

  • Order and contact details: your name, email address, billing address and shipping address, and a phone number only if you choose to enter one at checkout for delivery purposes.
  • Personalisation text: the names, numbers, lettering style and other choices you type into the fields on custom products, such as “Name on back” and “Number”. This text is stored with your order and printed on your item.
  • Order contents: the products, sizes and colours you buy, the order total and the order history linked to your email.
  • Messages: anything you write to us by email, including questions, return requests and the details you include in them.
  • Photos: pictures you send us, usually of a damaged or incorrect item. Customer photos are deleted 30 days after delivery.
  • Account details: if you create an account, your login email and a password, which is stored in encrypted form so that we cannot read it.

1.2 Information collected automatically

When you browse the site, our web server and security services automatically receive technical information that every website receives: your IP address, browser type, device type, the pages you request and the time of the request. This is used to deliver pages, keep the site secure and stop abuse such as automated attacks. We do not use this information to build advertising profiles.

Your cart contents are remembered using a cookie so that items stay in your cart while you shop; see section 4.

1.3 Information from third parties

When you pay, the payment provider you choose at checkout tells us whether the payment succeeded and may give us limited details such as the payer’s name and a transaction reference. We do not receive your full card number. When your parcel is shipped, the carrier may share delivery status updates that we can see in tracking.

Personalisation text

The names and numbers you type are used only to print your items and to resolve any question about your order. We do not use them for anything else, we do not publish them and we do not show your custom items as examples on the site.

3. How we share information

We share personal information only with service providers who need it to run the store, and only as much as they need:

  • Production partners who print and pack your items receive the order contents, personalisation text and shipping address.
  • Carriers receive the recipient’s name, shipping address and, if provided, a phone number for delivery.
  • Payment providers process your payment under their own privacy policies.
  • Hosting, security and email services that run the website and our support mailbox process data on our behalf.

We may also disclose information when the law requires it, to respond to a valid legal request, or to protect the rights and safety of our customers and the store. We do not sell or rent personal information to anyone, and we do not share it with advertisers.

4. Cookies and similar technologies

Jersey Yard uses a small number of cookies that are necessary for the shop to work:

  • Cart and session cookies remember the items in your cart and keep you logged in to your account if you have one.
  • Security cookies may be set by our security and content-delivery service to protect the site from automated attacks.

We do not use advertising cookies, social media pixels or third-party analytics trackers. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, but the cart and checkout will not work without the necessary cookies.

5. How long we keep information

Retention periods
InformationHow long we keep it
Photos you send usDeleted 30 days after delivery
Order records, including personalisation textAs long as needed for returns, accounting and legal obligations
Support emailsAs long as needed to resolve your request and any follow-up
Account detailsUntil you ask us to delete your account
Server logsFor a limited period needed for security

When information is no longer needed, we delete it or make it anonymous.

6. How we protect information

The website uses encrypted HTTPS connections on every page. Account passwords are stored in encrypted form. Access to order information is limited to the people and services that need it to fulfil and support your order. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to protect your information and will act promptly if we learn of a problem that affects it.

You can help by using a strong, unique password for your account and by never sending card numbers or passwords by email. We will never ask you for them.

7. Your rights and choices

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:

  • ask what personal information we hold about you and receive a copy;
  • correct information that is wrong, such as an old address;
  • ask us to delete your information, unless we must keep it, for example for an open return or for accounting records;
  • object to or restrict certain uses of your information;
  • complain to a data protection authority in your country.

To make a request, email support@jerseyyard.shop from the email address linked to your orders. We reply within 24 hours on business days and may ask you to confirm your identity before sharing or deleting information. We will not treat you differently for using your privacy rights.

8. Children’s privacy

Jersey Yard sells jerseys for babies and children, but the site is meant to be used by adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children under 13, and children should not create accounts or place orders. A child’s name or number entered by a parent or relative for printing is used only to make that order. If you believe a child has given us personal information, email us and we will delete it.

9. International visitors

Jersey Yard is based in the United States and ships to the United States, Canada, Australia and New Zealand. If you visit or order from outside the United States, your information is processed in the United States and in the countries where our service providers operate. Privacy laws there may differ from those in your country, and we apply this policy wherever your information is processed.

10. State privacy rights in the United States

Some US states give residents specific privacy rights, such as the right to know what personal information a business collects, to delete it, to correct it and to opt out of its sale or use for targeted advertising. Jersey Yard does not sell personal information and does not use it for targeted advertising, so there is nothing to opt out of. You can still use the other rights described in section 7 wherever you live; we apply the same process to every request, regardless of state.

Do Not Track and global privacy signals

Because we do not use cross-site tracking or advertising cookies, the site behaves the same way whether or not your browser sends a Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control signal: no advertising tracking takes place in either case.

11. Examples of how this works in practice

  • You order a custom youth jersey with your son’s name. The name, the number and your shipping address are passed to production and the carrier so the jersey can be printed and delivered. Nobody else receives them, and they are not used for marketing.
  • You email a photo of a misprinted number. We use the photo to approve your claim. It is deleted 30 days after delivery.
  • You ask us to delete your account. We delete your account login and the personal details we do not need to keep. Order records needed for accounting or an open return are kept only as long as required.
  • A grandparent sends a gift to your address. We use your name and address only to deliver that parcel; we do not contact you separately.

12. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy when our services or the law change. The date at the top shows the latest version. If we make a significant change, such as starting a newsletter or adding a new type of service provider, we will update this page before the change takes effect.
