  • Send notices by email to support@jerseyyard.shop with the subject “DMCA notice”.
  • We review every complete notice, remove or disable the material where appropriate, and reply within 24 hours on business days to confirm receipt.

Jersey Yard respects the work of artists, designers and photographers. Our jerseys, tees and tailgate gear use our own generic sports designs: yard lines, numbers, footballs and phrases such as GAME DAY or TAILGATE CAPTAIN, together with the family names and numbers our customers type in. We do not knowingly use anyone else’s copyrighted artwork. If you believe we have, this page explains how to let us know and what happens next.

1. What this page covers

The DMCA provides a process for copyright owners to ask online services to remove material that infringes their copyright. This page applies to content shown on jerseyyard.shop, including:

  • product designs and graphics shown on product pages and in product images;
  • photos, illustrations and text on the homepage, category pages and support pages;
  • any other images or written content published on the site.

Copyright protects original creative works such as artwork, photographs and written text. It does not protect names, short phrases, numbers or simple shapes on their own, and it is separate from trademark rights. If your concern is about a brand name, a team name, a logo or a mascot, please use our Intellectual Property Policy instead; we handle those reports just as seriously.

Personalisation text

Customers type names and numbers into fields on our custom products. That text is printed on their own order and is not published on the site. We do not accept personalisation requests for protected names or logos, as explained in our Terms of Service. If you believe an item we produced infringes your rights, you can still send us a notice.

2. How to send a copyright notice

Email support@jerseyyard.shop with the subject line “DMCA notice”. For us to act, your notice must include all of the following:

  1. Your contact details: full name, postal address, telephone number and email address.
  2. The copyrighted work: a description of the work you believe is infringed, such as an illustration, photo or text, and where it can be seen (for example, a link to your own website or a registration number if you have one).
  3. The material on our site: the exact URL of each page on jerseyyard.shop where the material appears, and a description of which image or text you mean. One notice can list several URLs.
  4. Good-faith statement: “I have a good faith belief that use of the material in the manner complained of is not authorised by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law.”
  5. Accuracy statement: “The information in this notice is accurate, and under penalty of perjury, I am the owner, or authorised to act on behalf of the owner, of an exclusive right that is allegedly infringed.”
  6. Your signature: a physical or electronic signature. Typing your full legal name at the end of the email is accepted as an electronic signature.

If you are acting for someone else, such as a client or an employer, say so and give the name of the copyright owner.

Postal notices

You may also send a notice by post to Jersey Yard, 158 Bar Harbor Rd, Freehold, NJ 07728, US. Email is faster, because post takes longer to arrive and to be scanned into our records.

3. What we do when we receive a notice

How a copyright notice is handled
StepWhat happens
1. ReceiptWe confirm we received your notice, replying within 24 hours on business days.
2. Completeness checkWe check that the notice includes all the elements in section 2. If something is missing, we tell you what is needed.
3. ReviewWe compare the material on our site with the work described in your notice.
4. ActionWhere appropriate, we remove or disable access to the material and, if it is a product design, stop selling that design.
5. NotificationWe tell you what we did. If the material was supplied by someone else, we notify them and give them the chance to respond.

Removing material in response to a notice is not an admission that it infringed anyone’s rights. It is how we keep the process fair and fast for everyone.

Orders already placed

If a design is removed while customers have open orders for it, we contact those customers, explain that the item can no longer be supplied and refund it in full within 7 days, or offer a different design if they prefer.

4. Counter-notification for content you submitted

If material you provided to us was removed and you believe that was a mistake or a misidentification, you may send a counter-notification to support@jerseyyard.shop with the subject “DMCA counter-notification”. It must include:

  1. your full name, postal address, telephone number and email address;
  2. a description of the material that was removed and the URL where it appeared before removal;
  3. this statement: “Under penalty of perjury, I have a good faith belief that the material was removed or disabled as a result of mistake or misidentification of the material to be removed or disabled.”;
  4. a statement that you consent to the jurisdiction of the federal district court for the judicial district in which your address is located (or, if your address is outside the United States, any judicial district in which Jersey Yard may be found), and that you will accept service of process from the person who sent the original notice or their agent;
  5. your physical or electronic signature.

When we receive a valid counter-notification, we send a copy to the person who sent the original notice. If they do not tell us within the period set by law that they have filed a court action, we may restore the material.

5. False or misleading notices

Notices and counter-notifications are legal statements. Under the DMCA, anyone who knowingly makes a material misrepresentation that material is infringing, or that it was removed by mistake, may be liable for damages, including costs and legal fees. Please make sure you own the rights you are asserting, and consider whether the use might be allowed, before sending a notice. If you are unsure, you may wish to get legal advice first.

6. Repeat infringement

Where it applies, we will stop working with any designer, supplier or account holder who repeatedly provides infringing material. We also review our own designs when a notice raises a question about them, so that the same issue does not happen again.

7. How we try to prevent problems

Prevention is easier than removal. These are the rules we follow when creating and publishing content:

  • Our product designs are generic sports graphics: field lines, numbers, footballs, laces and short phrases. We do not copy artwork from other stores or from teams.
  • Product photos and banners on the site are created for Jersey Yard or used with permission.
  • Written content on this site, including product descriptions and policy pages, is written for Jersey Yard.
  • We do not accept personalisation text that includes team, league, college or player names, logos or mascots.

Mistakes can still happen, which is why this process exists, and we are grateful when rights owners tell us about a concern directly.

8. Examples of complete and incomplete notices

To save time on both sides, here is what usually makes a notice complete, and what tends to hold it up.

Notice examples
Notice saysComplete?Why
“Your football graphic copies my illustration,” with a link to the illustrator’s portfolio, the exact product URL on jerseyyard.shop, both required statements and a typed signatureYesThe work, the location and the statements are all identified
“You are using my photo somewhere on your site”NoNo URL on our site and no description of the original photo
“Take down all your jerseys”NoNo specific copyrighted work or specific material identified
A complete notice sent on behalf of a design studio, naming the studio as owner and the sender as its authorised agentYesAgents may send notices when they identify the owner

If your notice is incomplete, we will not ignore it: we reply and explain what else we need so the review can go ahead.

Keeping records

We keep a record of each notice, our review and the action taken, so that we can answer follow-up questions and apply the repeat-infringement rule fairly. These records are kept only as long as needed for that purpose.

9. Frequently asked questions

How long does it take to act on a notice?

We confirm receipt within 24 hours on business days. Most complete notices are reviewed and, where appropriate, acted on promptly after that; we will keep you informed by email.

Can I report a team logo or league name under the DMCA?

Logos and names are usually protected by trademark law rather than copyright. Use our Intellectual Property Policy process, which covers trademarks and other rights.

Do you share my notice with anyone?

If the material was supplied by a third party, we may share your notice with them so they can respond, as the DMCA process expects. Your information is otherwise handled under our Privacy Policy.

I bought an item and think the design copies my artwork. What should I do?

Send a notice as described in section 2, with photos of the item and the URL of the product page if it is still online.

Can I contact you informally before sending a formal notice?

Yes. Many concerns are resolved with a simple email explaining what you have noticed. If we agree the material should not be on the site, we will remove it without needing a formal notice. If we see things differently, we will tell you, and you can then send a formal notice as described above.
