\nFootball fans are loyal to their teams, and it is natural to want a jersey with a favourite team’s name on it. Those names and logos belong to the teams, leagues and colleges that own them, and only licensed sellers may use them. Jersey Yard is not one of them, so we have built the store around something that is yours to put on a jersey: your family name and the numbers that matter to you. This policy explains how we handle intellectual property, ours and other people’s.
\nThe following belong to Jersey Yard or are used by us with permission:
\nYou may share links to our pages and talk about our products. You may not copy our designs to sell elsewhere, reuse our photos or text on another store, or use our name or logo in a way that suggests a connection with Jersey Yard that does not exist, without our written permission.
\nWe do not claim to own common words like “game day”, “rookie” or “tailgate”, or numbers. What belongs to us is our specific artwork and the way we combine and present them.
\nTeams, leagues, colleges and athletes own valuable trademarks and publicity rights. We respect them by following simple rules across the whole store:

Colours are not owned on their own, and our jerseys come in common colours such as turf green, navy, red and black. We describe them by colour name only and never market a colour combination as a particular team’s colours.
\nIf an order’s personalisation text appears to be a team, college, player or brand name, we contact the customer before printing and ask for different text. If we cannot agree on text we are able to print, we cancel that item and refund it in full within 7 days. This rule is also in our Terms of Service.
\nSome family names are also team names or famous players’ surnames. That is not a problem in itself: a family whose surname happens to match a famous player’s can of course order jerseys with their own name. What we look at is whether the request, as a whole, is trying to recreate a team or player product, for example a protected name combined with that player’s well-known number and team colours. If we have a question, we ask before printing.
\nJersey Yard is an independent store. Our products are not official merchandise of any team, league, conference, college or association, and they are not endorsed or sponsored by any of them or by any athlete. Words such as “football”, “game day” and “jersey” describe the type of product and the occasion; they do not indicate any affiliation.
\nEvery Jersey Yard design starts from the visual language of the game itself rather than from any team. That means elements anyone can recognise as football without pointing to a particular club:
\nBefore a design goes on sale, we check that it does not include a team name, a logo, a mascot or a slogan associated with a team, league or college, and that the wording does not imply any official link. Colour choices are listed by plain colour name.
\nProduct photos show our own designs. Where a photo shows a sample name and number, we use neutral placeholders such as FAMILY and 00, so that nobody mistakes a product image for a real team or player jersey.
\nIf you own a trademark or other right, or act for someone who does, and you believe something on jerseyyard.shop infringes it, please email support@jerseyyard.shop with the subject “IP report” and include:
\nCopyright concerns, such as copied artwork, photos or text, are handled under our DMCA process, which asks for some additional statements.
\nWe confirm receipt within 24 hours on business days. We then review the report and the material. Where we agree there is a problem, we remove the material or the product from the site and stop selling it, and we contact any customers with open orders for it to offer a full refund or a different design. Where we do not agree, we explain our reasons to you by email. We may ask for more information if a report is unclear.
\nWe keep a record of reports and our responses so that we can learn from them and make sure a removed design does not return.
\nPersonalisation text, emails and photos you send us remain yours. By sending them, you allow us to use them only to make, deliver and support your order, or to answer your message. We do not publish customer personalisation or photos. You confirm that you have the right to the text you ask us to print and that it does not infringe anyone else’s rights. Photos you send us are deleted 30 days after delivery, as explained in our Privacy Policy.
\nWe are happy for customers to share photos of their own family in Jersey Yard jerseys on their personal social media. That is your photo and your family. What we ask is that nobody uses our logo, designs, product photos or text commercially, for example on another online store or marketplace listing, without our written permission. If you would like to ask permission for a particular use, email us and describe what you have in mind.
\nIf you see Jersey Yard designs, photos or text being sold or used on another website, we would be grateful if you let us know at support@jerseyyard.shop with a link to the page.
\nYou can choose any colour we list for a product. We sell them as plain colours, not as team colours, and we do not add team names or logos.
\nWe print family names and numbers chosen by you, together with our own designs. We do not print organisation names, including local league or school team names, because we cannot check who owns them. Contact us if you are unsure about a specific word.
\nIf the text on a custom item looked like a protected name, we will have emailed you to ask for different text. Reply with new text and we continue the order; nothing is printed until then.
\nNo. Numbers on their own are free for everyone to use. What we avoid is recreating a specific player’s or team’s product, such as a famous name plus number plus team colours together.
\nOur products are sold for personal use and gifts. If you are interested in a larger order for a family reunion or a group, email us; reselling our designs under another name is not permitted.
\nNo. We do not make jerseys designed to look like a specific team’s or player’s jersey, and we do not describe any product as a replica, a throwback of a team, or “inspired by” a team. Our jerseys are our own designs with your family’s names and numbers.
\nNothing is printed until the text is agreed. You can reply with new text, choose a ready-made design instead, or cancel that item for a full refund within 7 days. The rest of your order is not affected.
\nOrganisation names can be trademarks too, so we treat them like team names and do not print them. Family names, first names, nicknames and numbers are always welcome.
